Will James Bond’s new ride still be an Aston Martin?

Posted on March 20, 2025

On 20th February, it was announced that Amazon had secured the rights to the James Bond franchise from long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Not sure how to feel about this until we see some teasers or they announce some new faces for the franchise…

Amazon clearly means business, paying £790m for the privilege. They have a history of throwing millions into creative projects and making back millions more. But while everyone is speculating about who the next Bond might be, shouldn’t we be asking a more important question?

What will the next Bond be driving?

For decades, Aston Martin has been more than just a car in the Bond films. It’s a character in its own right, as much a part of 007 as the tailored suits and shaken martinis. From the iconic DB5 in Goldfinger to the thunderous DBS in Casino Royale, and the Valkyrie tucked away in Q’s lair! The Aston Martin badge has become shorthand for style, speed, and a quiet kind of menace.

Of course, Bond has had brief flings with other manufacturers. A BMW here, a Lotus there. But there’s only one car that truly fits the man. When Daniel Craig slid into an Aston Martin DB10 in Spectre, it wasn’t just a cool car for a cool agent. It was a message: Bond is back where he belongs.

Now, there are whispers that the next Bond might go electric. Manufacturers are under pressure, and Aston Martin has already teased a future of hybrid and EV supercars. But does a silent, battery-powered Bond car make sense? Does it fit the mythology? A secret agent shouldn’t be worrying about finding a charging station in the middle of Rome mid-car chase!

This is why, if you really want to get closer to the Bond legend, you need to get behind the wheel of an Aston Martin like our DB9 The DB9 is a masterpiece of old-school and modern engineering, a V12 symphony that embodies everything Bond stands for. It doesn’t just transport you from A to B; it transports you into that world of espionage, danger, and timeless cool. Owning or driving a DB9 isn’t just about having a car. It’s about experiencing what it means to be Bond, if only for a moment. The weight of the leather, the growl of the engine, the way it grips the road like it was built for the chase. This is what Aston Martin has given to the Bond franchise. Not just a mode of transport, but an identity.

So while everyone debates who will wear the tuxedo next, the real Bond fans will be asking a different question. Not who, but what. And the answer, as always, should be Aston Martin!
