0–60mph in just 3.5 seconds and a verified top speed of 212.3mph at Nardò, recorded by Formula One ace Martin Brundle. With catalytic converters disconnected, it pushed the equivalent of 223mph on a straight. In the early ’90s, that was simply astonishing.

But the XJ220 wasn’t just about headline speeds. Developed with serious motorsport pedigree, it combined race-bred suspension, massive ventilated disc brakes and razor-sharp balance.
