Aston Martin DB6 Hire

Specification

Our number 8 of 10 Aston Martin DB6 Superleggera, built in 1965, has finally returned home after years of touring Europe. During its travels it covered some of the continent’s greatest driving roads and competed at the iconic Spa circuit in Belgium, as well as tackling the legendary Mille Miglia from Brescia to Rome, an event that remains one of the most demanding and celebrated historic road races in the world!

Presented in the beautifully understated Peacock Blue/Green, one of Aston Martin’s rarest period colours, this DB6 perfectly captures the elegance of the marque’s golden era. The rich Connolly black leather interior has matured gracefully with age, complemented by its desirable three-quarter length Webasto roof, allowing open-air motoring at the slide of a handle while retaining the refinement and practicality of a grand tourer.

Introduced as the successor to the DB5, the DB6 retained Aston Martin’s hand-built Superleggera construction, a lightweight tubular framework clothed in aluminium body panels, while benefiting from a longer wheelbase and the distinctive Kamm-style rear tail. These subtle engineering developments improved high-speed stability, increased cabin space and created a genuinely usable four-seat GT without sacrificing the effortless proportions that have made the DB6 one of the most admired Aston Martins ever built.

Beneath the bonnet sits Aston Martin’s legendary 4 litre all-alloy straight-six engine, breathing through a trio of SU carburettors and paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. The result is a wonderfully mechanical and engaging driving experience, with crisp throttle response, abundant torque and a soundtrack that builds from a cultured growl into the unmistakable rasp of the twin exhausts. Ahead of the driver, the original Smiths instruments and period clock come alive with every input, creating a connection between car and driver that modern machinery simply cannot replicate.

With comfortable accommodation for four adults and generous luggage space, the DB6 was conceived as the ultimate gentleman’s express equally at home crossing continents as it is carving through a favourite B-road. It blends performance, craftsmanship and practicality in a way few cars of its era could achieve, and more than sixty years later it remains one of Aston Martin’s defining grand tourers and one of the most desirable British classics ever produced!
